Skulls have to be special to make it into my collection and I love the way this one has been carved, with its glam rock-style pyrite streak straight down the eye. Crystal skulls are said to be ultra-wise and healing. Lapis is a stone associated with the third eye and the throat, bringing forth intuition, inner wisdom and self-expression.

It’s a stone for setting you on your life path, giving clarity if you feel aimless or depressed. It is said to be a hotline to ancient civilisations, especially Egypt, and may be used to enter past lives.
Historically it was used for jewellery and ornamentation, is believed to enhance vitality and psychic ability, and was the sacred stone of the goddess Isis.
The gold and white banding in lapis comes from its natural inclusions of pyrite and calcite respectively.
Physically, lapis is believed to balance the pituitary gland (third eye) and stimulate immune function. It is used to treat a number of conditions including pain and migraine, inflammation particularly related to the eyes, ears, nose and throat. It may cleanse the blood and is often recommended for insomnia.
